XtalLight 100

UV-Light Source as desktop microscope upgrade

Although the standard light spectrum of the XtalLight is in the UV region of the light spectrum, the instrument can be equipped with a second light source that emits light in the visible region of the light spectrum for trace label fluorescence imaging. Labelled proteins with a covalently attached fluorescent dye can be excited and identified by matching wavelengths.

To allow flexibility in the positioning of the light spots, the light guides are attached to flexible arms mounted on a base plate with provisions for fine adjustment.

Some laboratory microscopes are operated from an external PC or laptop. A software package is available for XtalLight 100 that allows remote operation of the system from the same PC.
